The list of entertainment professionals getting a star placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the class of 2022 has been announced. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is the organization that selects who is chosen to receive this honor, while the sidewalks containing the stars are maintained by the Hollywood Historic Trust. The Hollywood Walk of Fame has become one of the most visited tourist destination locations in the area, as visitors go to check out the stars belonging to some of the most recognizable names in the world.

The Walk of Fame can be found around Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles. The categories of entertainment covered are: film, television, live performance, radio, recording, and sports, with the film category representing the largest number of stars. When an individual is selected to receive a star, they pay a $50,000 fee and are able to schedule an event for the occasion. However, they only have two years to do so, or they forfeit their selection.

When one of these public figures receive a star, it is typically highly publicized by any studios that they are currently working with to promote their projects. It is always an exciting time of year to see what new stars will be added next. Coppola finally receiving a star is long overdue and seeing Fisher have the honor after her passing in 2016 will warm the hearts of many people around the world. While Momoa and Jordan are much earlier in their careers, they will certainly continue to add value to this achievement.

The film category alone includes some other big names that are exciting to see, such as Dafoe, Hayek, Hunt, King, and McGregor. Every year, many folks online are upset that their favorite stars did not receive this honor. While some renowned celebrities do not receive a star until their old age or sometimes after their death, some young talent are provided with the honor perhaps a bit too soon. Some of the newer names seem to be a bit premature, although they may be inducted for their anticipated career trajectory. For those bummed out to not see their favorite celebrity listed, the Hollywood Walk of Fame accepts nominations from the public, as long as they can get their manager’s permission.
