Viewers first met Big Ed when his romance with Rosemarie Vega was captured by cameras. Throughout that relationship, Big Ed treated Filipina Rose terribly. He made hurtful comments about her body hair and her personal hygiene, and also criticized her living situation back in the Philippines. All of this played out on TV. Rose was very patient, and she did manage to stick it out with Big Ed for a while. Perhaps she hoped for a better life for herself and her son, Prince. Even Big Ed has praised her mothering skills.

Since there seems to be no way for Big Ed to win Rose Vega back (and most fans don’t want her to rekindle that romance), he has chosen to stay relevant by continuing to date publicly. Viewers used to assume that Big Ed had changed his ways since his time on 90 Day Fiancé, but they now think that he’s stuck in a negative pattern. Big Ed eventually met and started dating single mom Liz (also known as Elizabeth Marie), who was 28-years-old at the time. Big Ed is in his late 50s. Fans were disgusted by the age gap, and Big Ed didn’t help when he talked about their private moments behind closed doors. As time passes, he persists in dating women that are younger than his daughter.
It might be wise for Big Ed to start rethinking his dating habits and how he sabotages himself by seeking out younger women. After all, times have changed. People are getting canceled for less than Ed does. However, Big Ed doesn’t seem to care. It could be argued that he thrives on attention, whether it’s positive or negative.
It also is a shame to see him go through one relationship after another. None of them seem to work out. If he really is looking for love, as he claims he is, then perhaps dating women his age is the best idea. He should also treat them like normal human beings, by giving them space to be themselves in the relationship. He will also benefit from not objectifying every woman that he likes. Big Ed should be learning from experience but he doesn’t seem to be doing that.

The petition was posted on May 28 and has gained over 3,000 signatures. Big Ed’s conduct with women may be ruining his own career, in addition to offending his partners, who drift away. He’s been accused of being classist and of possible racism. Since he’s a business owner, these accusations may damage his brand.
Most fans agree that Big Ed needs to change or get out of the way. If this does happen, it may bring Big Ed to his senses.
