Pershing 6X Expected to Hit 48 Knots

Luxury
The Pershing 6X will be the newest model in the imposing Generation X range

Pershing has unveiled details of its upcoming 6X, which is expected to have a top speed of 48 knots and a cruising speed of 42 with a pair of 1,550mhp MAN V12 engines, living up to the performance standards embodied by the rest of the Italian builder’s Generation X range.

Joining the 5X, 7X, 8X and 9X, the 6X is the range’s second-smallest model and has an overall length of 18.94m (62 ft) and a beam of 4.8m (16ft). The model is designed by the studio headed by Fulvio De Simoni, Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Group’s Engineering Department.

Like her sister models, the Pershing 6X will have an aerodynamic profile

Like the other Generation X models, Pershing 6X has a sleek, streamlined appearance and features large, glazed surfaces in the hull that ensure plenty of natural light on the lower deck. New features include the styling of the big aft sunpad, the carbon and teak table in the cockpit, the chaise longue with reclining backrest positioned forward, and rectangular portholes that look like windows.

One of the standout zones is the helm station, which includes a dashboard with two 19-inch monitors, carbon-fibre control panels and an electro-hydraulic steering system, all set under a large, opening sunroof. Also available is an innovative joystick coupled to the surface drive with various operating modes including ‘easy handling’ for manoeuvrability in ports and confined waters.

The 6X will feature a newly designed foredeck

The first unit has three cabins – owner, forward VIP and starboard guest – and three bathrooms with separate shower. The guest bathroom, which can be entered both from the cabin and the lobby on the mezzanine, also acts as the day head.

On the left side of the hull is the galley, positioned to benefit from various sources of natural light, including a ceiling window. The version for the American market has two cabins – owner and VIP – with a living space replacing the guest cabin. Both versions have a crew cabin accessible from the cockpit, with a single bed and integrated bathroom.

The styling of the large aft sunpad is another new feature

The materials used for the interiors include plain and lacquered wood for the furniture, parquet floors, Mastrotto and Poltrona Frau leathers, and mirrored panels in the owner’s cabin. The lighting system features new horizontal LED bars in the ceiling that match the decor based on alternating smooth and undulatedsurfaces.
