Bachelor Nation Stars Who Supported Colton Underwood Coming Out As Gay

After coming out as gay in a recent interview on Good Morning America, former star of The Bachelor Colton Underwood has received plenty of support from Bachelor Nation. Colton sat down for an honest and open conversation with Robin Roberts about his sexuality. After running from his truth for a long time, he has come to terms with who he is and is learning to process his sexuality. After a chaotic year, he has been able to be honest with himself and get to a place where he could share his sexuality with the world. 

Colton’s news was met with an overwhelming amount of love and support from Bachelor Nation. Cast members shared their support via social media, expressing their happiness despite any recent controversy surrounding the former Bachelor. He received support from fellow LGBTQ+ community members, women on his season, and even the host of the franchise. It is clear Bachelor Nation is ready to welcome the new Colton with open arms.

Demi Burnett was on Colton’s season of The Bachelor and was one of the ladies competing for his heart in 2019. Not long after the season ended, Demi shared that she was also part of the LGBTQ+ community. Demi came out as bisexual that same year and is now welcoming Colton to the community as well. She shared her support for Colton via Twitter by saying “Welcome to the community, brother.” Demi was just one of the women who competed for Colton’s heart who expressed her support.

Former Bachelorette Tayshia Adams fought for Colton’s heart as well and made it pretty far on his season. She spoke on the Click Bait podcast about how she was shocked to hear about Colton coming out, but was very happy he can now live his truth. She commended his ability to come to terms with who he is and said she saw the relief in his face when he shared it with the world. Tayshia was very open about sharing how supportive she was of Colton, and said she is happy he can be who he truly is. 

Chris Harrison is the host of the Bachelor franchise and has been known to spark controversy and not always show support for people within the franchise. On Instagram, Chris shared his support, which is the first thing he has shared since his announcement about stepping aside from the franchise. He posted a picture of him with Colton, saying he was proud and happy to see the Bachelor alum stand up and live his truth. He ended the caption with, “You have my love and support my friend.

It took a while for Colton to come to terms with his sexuality and share it with the world, but he was met with an overwhelming amount of love and support from many people in Bachelor Nation. While it was not easy news for him to share, he is very happy and relieved to be open about who he truly is and who he loves. Following his interview, it was announced that Colton may be a part of a new Netflix show. While it may have been difficult for him to face this part of himself, it is certain Colton has the support of his fans, family, and Bachelor Nation.
