They chat about what the Spring Budget offered charities and the sector’s response to it, as well as Kevin Watkins’s planned departure from Save the Children and Cancer Research UK’s move to halve its senior leadership team.
They also look at the fall in popularity of children’s charities among the general public, and the news that that charity shops could be able to access up to £9m in additional grant funding after the government lifted allowance limits that were capped by outdated European Union state aid rules. - Sydney the mini Australian labradoodle who, along with her human Wendy Farrington, trudged 100 miles through 12 inches of snow in New York to help support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
- The news that Banksy’s painting of a young boy ditching his Batman and Spider-Man action figures for a caped superhero nurse is going to be auctioned, and is expected to raise more than £3m to be donated to NHS charities.
