Third Sector Podcast: Karl Wilding

Charity

In a bumper edition of the Third Sector Podcast, features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney and editor Emily Burt look back over the year and celebrate the fact that it is finally drawing to a close.

Rebecca interviews Karl Wilding, chief executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, about his first year at the head of the umbrella body, and how it’s been for both the organisation and the wider sector.

And in a special edition of our coronavirus care package, Rebecca chats to the award-winning poet Hollie McNish about her work with the family support charity Home-Start.

McNish is raising money for the charity by selling colour-in copies of her poem “You Do Not Need a Chimney”, which seeks to reassure children that Father Christmas will still be able to visit them, even if they don’t live in a big house with a fireplace.

Copies of the poem are available here, and 50 per cent of the cost will go to Home-Start.
