The latest episode of the Third Sector Podcast looks at job hunting in the charity sector.

In August, Pro Bono Economics’ Charity Sector Tracker found that almost 60,000 voluntary sector jobs could be lost by the end of the year, as a result of the coronavirus crisis. 

Each week, new charities are announcing redundancies and restructures, with some announcing more than 1,000 job losses in one go. 

But despite the falls in income, charities’ services are more needed than ever.

Third Sector features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney speaks to Joe Edmonds, commercial director at Haymarket (who oversees the recruitment adverts on the Third Sector Jobs site), and Linda Griffiths, associate director at Prospectus, a recruitment agency specialising in the not-for-profit sector.

She asks them what the outlook is for people searching for new jobs in the voluntary sector, what opportunities are out there and what things charity job seekers should bear in mind.
