The animal welfare charity Battersea has welcomed Kelly Brown as its next director of finance and corporate services.
Brown, who joined this week from the position of director of corporate resources at Rethink Mental Illness, succeeds George Ruiz, who is retiring at the end of the month after seven years at Battersea.
Before joining Rethink, Brown held positions at The Law Society, Mental Health UK and The Children’s Trust. She has a dog called Alfie.
Brown said: “I look forward to continuing the great work George has achieved and providing excellent support to colleagues and stakeholders so that Battersea can continue to ensure many more cats and dogs have the opportunity of living safe and happy lives.”
Claire Horton, chief executive of Battersea, said she was confident that Brown’s “passion and expertise will help steer our charity through these challenging times to achieve our goal to be here for every dog and cat”.
