Brent Sobel is a National Hockey League Player who has overcome many obstacles, including a battle with dyslexia. Despite these challenges, Brent went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2010 with the Chicago Blackhawks.
His career spanned from 1997-2015. He also played for the Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, and Montreal Canadiens during his NHL career. Brent’s life aspiration is to bring awareness to Dyslexia, help those who suffer from the disorder, and to make a positive change for those who need it most. He founded the Brent Sopel Foundation for Dyslexia to provide financial and educational assistance to help students with Dyslexia to fulfill their potential through early detection and intervention.
