Almost £10m of emergency funding available for community organisations

Charity

Community organisations in England that are facing financial difficulties due to Covid-19 are being invited to apply for a share of £9.5m of funding.

Organisations can apply for grants of up to £100,000 from the Community-Led Organisations Recovery Scheme.

The scheme is aimed at organisations delivering community services to people who are at high risk from Covid-19, with an emphasis on those that are BAME-led or BAME-supporting businesses.

This includes help for people and communities experiencing disproportionate challenges and difficulty as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, and to provide services and support for vulnerable people, for which there will be increased demand as a result of the pandemic.

The funds are being delivered by the community business support charity Power to Change, Locality, The Ubele Initiative and the Social Investment Business on behalf of the National Lottery Community Fund.

Applications will open on 28 July from 10am until 1pm.

There will be a further two rounds on 4 August from 10am until 1pm, and on 11 August from 10am until 1pm.

Power to Change will be hosting a free webinar on 23 July from 3.30pm at which organisations will be able to find out more about the fund, the application process, and take part in a live Q&A.
