Louis Vuitton Welcomes Johnny Coca as The New Women’s Fashion Leather Goods Director

Luxury

With a highly impressive resume of working alongside the likes of former Creative Director of Céline, Phoebe Philo, and holding his own as Creative Director for five years at Mulberry, where he successfully transformed the British heritage brand’s leather and accessories lines – it comes as no surprise that Louis Vuitton’s new women’s fashion leather goods director, is none other than the esteemed Johnny Coca.

Expected to start the new role on 2nd June and report to Louis Vuitton Women’s Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière, whom Coca has worked in close collaboration with in the past, crafting several iconic Louis Vuitton handbags together – the all-new member of the LVMH empire has since expressed great appreciation, excitement and pride, stating in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, “It’s with great pride that I join Nicolas Ghesquière and the Louis Vuitton teams to further develop the women’s handbag collections. For me, the journey now has come full circle, to the place where I was lucky enough to hone my passion first-hand and learn the fundamentals of leather craftsmanship in the ateliers at Asnières. It opens a new chapter in my own creative adventure, in an extraordinary laboratory that blends heritage and modernity.”
