The specialist insurer Ecclesiastical is inviting people to enter their favourite charities into a prize draw for the chance to win one of 1,000 grants of £500.
The first round of Ecclesiastical’s Movement for Good awards will be open for nominations until 24 May, with a second round later in the summer bringing the total funding pot to £1m.
Winners will be drawn at random, but charities can be nominated multiple times to increase their chances of winning.
Grant recipients will be announced in the first half of June.
The awards were launched last year, when 98,000 people nominated more than 7,000 charities.
Mark Hews, group chief executive of Ecclesiastical, said: “The coronavirus is having a major impact on charities and many are facing financial difficulties.
“Our Movement for Good awards will continue to help charities at a time when they need it most. We know that, for many charities, £1,000 can make a real difference.
“We were thrilled to receive so many nominations from the public last year and this year we are encouraging even more people to nominate a good cause.”
