Red Hulk Joins MCU in New Fan-Made Poster For IncREDible Hulk

Movies

A new fan-made poster for The Incredible Hulk imagines what it would look like if Red Hulk joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Red Hulk is a rather new Marvel character compared to Hulk (who debuted in 1962), with Thunderbolt Ross transforming into the character for the first time in 2008. Bruce Banner has been a main character in the MCU since the beginning, with The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton being the second film released in the franchise.

There have been rumors for a while now that Red Hulk could come to the MCU in Phase 4. Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross has appeared in a few movies, dating back to 2008 when he appeared in The Incredible Hulk and will also appear in Black Widow in November. Ross could also make an appearance in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, which Mark Ruffalo will reportedly appear in. It’s unknown how big of a role Ross will have in Black Widow or if he will appear at all in She-Hulk, but Marvel has two opportunities ahead of them to set up the character. Now, a piece of fan art imagines what it could look like if Red Huk did come to the MCU.

A fan-made poster from artist Zerologhy not only gives the Hulk another solo movie, but titles it The IncREDible Hulk to signify Red Hulk having a major role in the film. The film would bring back Liv Tyler and William Hurt as Betty Ross and Thunderbolt Ross, respectively. According to the actor names at the top of the poster, The IncREDible Hulk would involve Thor, Maria Hill, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, and also see the return of Abomination.

Ever since Mark Ruffalo replaced Edward Norton, fans have been wanting to see another solo Hulk movie. Not only was Hulk one of the six original Avengers, but Ruffalo has been well-received as the character, meaning giving Hulk another stand-alone movie would make sense. However, that has yet to happen because the character rights to Hulk are complicated, to say the least. Hulk did have a big role in Thor: Ragnarok, with the film adapting parts of the Planet Hulk storyline, and that might be the closest fans see to a Hulk-solo film for a while.

Since Ruffalo wasn’t in the 2008 film, it can be easy to forget that The Incredible Hulk is even in the MCU. Making a new Hulk movie with characters from the 2008 Incredible Hulk could make the film feel more connected to the MCU and give fans a film they’ve wanted for years. Needless to say, fans would go crazy if Marvel announced a new Hulk stand-alone film, and introducing Red Hulk would just be the icing on top.
