Love Wine? Enjoy An Armchair At-Home Masterclass With Armit

Luxury

The current UK restrictions do not prevent you from experiencing your favourite tipples. If you’re wanting to keep your wine palate in tip-top shape, Armit Wines might have the ideal solution for you with their At-Home Masterclass.

Our social lives may have suffered a blow due to COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get creative from the comfort of our homes. With restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs all shut down for the foreseeable future, it’s all too easy to settle down with a regular plonk from your local supermarket or off-licence.

But one wine merchant has come up with the perfect solution. The Notting Hill-based Armit Wines is offering customers the chance to explore different grape varieties from around the world with its new At-Home Masterclass.

The six wines in the Armit Wines At-Home Masterclass

The session offers an educational way to still enjoy wine tasting from the comfort of your own home. Their At-Home Masterclass features six wines and showcases two single grape varietals over three locations across the world in varying climates with different pairs of hands tending to the vines. Chenin Blanc and Grenache Noir can have immensely different flavour profiles and styles from a range of Armit’s producers from across the globe.

The grapes…

Chenin Blanc
The Chenin Blanc, originally from the Loire Valley in France, shows real adaptability due to its high acidity. It’s able to produce different styles of wine, both still or sparkling, and dry or sweet. This versatile grape was exported to South Africa in 1655. Today, expressions of Chenin come from other places too including Australia and New Zealand.

Grenache Noir
Like the Chenin Blanc, Grenache Noir is another versatile grape variety. It can produce wines ranging from rose to sweet ones and works well on its own or in a blend. The grape loves the heat and thrives around the Mediterranean Sea. Originally from Spain, this grape can now be found across the world including California, Australia, South Africa, Spain and France.

Taking part in the masterclass couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is purchase the six wines for the masterclass, wait for the wines to arrive directly to your door and then logon to their website to begin.

The wines…
The wines have been carefully chosen by Armit Wines who have built a reputation for being one of the top UK contemporary wine merchants since 1988. As importers of some of the most iconic wineries in the world, they pride themselves on being talented for spotting the wine stars of the future. And if you’re already a fine dining connoisseur, you’ve probably already drunk one of their chosen wines. Armit Wines supply almost all the Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK, as well as other top establishments.

The six At-Home Masterclass wines include the 2012 Dowie Doole ‘Tintookie’ Chenin Blanc from McLaren Vale in South Australia, the 2016 Astrolabe, ‘The Wrekin Vineyard’ Chenin Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand, the 2014 Domaine Huet, Vouvray Pétillant from the Loire Valley in France, the 2017 Momento, Grenache Noir from the Western Cape in South Africa, the 2017 Terroir Sense Fronteres ‘Vertebra’ from the Montsant wine region in Spain, and finally, the 2017 Dowie Doole ‘G & T’ from McLaren Vale in Australia.

Not every wine needs to be preserved for a grand occasion, and with COVID-19, we’re all learning what’s really important and special. And if that is time well spent with family and friends, we will raise our glasses to that. Cheers!
