The Not Forgotten launches The Best Seat In The House a free entertainment show for care homes and the vulnerable across the UK.

The Not Forgotten is an organisation set up to combat isolation and loneliness amongst the extended British Military family. They support any service personnel who are wounded, injured or sick. The organisation also care for any veteran with a disability, illness or infirmity. Any serving or former member of any branch of the services may be eligible for their help.

The current period of lockdown and social distancing due to COVID-19 brings many issues to the forefront, primarily mental health and anxiety. These can escalate in certain demographic groups such as the elderly and military veterans. These people can also be isolated, lonely, and vulnerable and must not be forgotten.

The Not Forgotten is launching its very own free entertainment show, called THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE. Aimed at entertaining people in care, senior living facilities across the country, as well as the general public, who are isolated from their loved ones now more than ever.

Launched on Tuesday 31st March at 3 pm, it will air twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7th April 2020 onwards. The show features a beautiful array of special guests from the world of showbiz and entertainment. Acts will draw inspiration from the 1940s – 60s, so viewers can expect traditional variety style entertainment with some familiar faces and stars from ‘Allo ‘Allo!, The Bill, Emmerdale, Good Morning Britain, and West End musicals to name but a few.

Each 60-minute episode will be ‘aired’ via The Not Forgotten’s YouTube Channel – www.youtube.com/TheNotForgottenAssoc – Anyone around the world can tune in and enjoy the entertainment. The end segment will also feature a shout-out, request, and a message opportunity where viewers can feel involved with the possibility of a mention on a future episode.

Brigadier James Stopford OBE, CEO of The Not Forgotten; “A big part of The Not Forgotten’s work is bringing entertainment to the care homes we support across the UK.”

This is generally through our annual tour, but, for obvious reasons during the current pandemic that our world is facing and subsequent safeguarding measures, this has had to be cancelled.

However, as far as we were concerned, the show still needs to go on to bring joy to those who are now more isolated from their friends, families, and loved ones than ever before.”

From the comfort of their own homes, THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE combines beloved tour artists, along with recognisable celebrities from showbusiness. They will perform golden oldies or relay messages of hope and inspiration. Although the show was initially designed to reach those in the military, the charity wanted to unite the nation highlighting true community spirit.

The Not Forgotten chose to upload the show to their YouTube channel enabling anyone in the UK, or globally to tune in so they can enjoy pure, feel-good entertainment during these uncertain times.

THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE will be available to watch on YouTube from Tuesday 31st March 3 pm GMT. To obtain further information on The Not Forgotten, visit www.thenotforgotten.org.
