Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5 Sneak Peek: Aloneliness Is Real, and Harry Is Not Okay

Poor Harry. He’s human now, and while he might look like the town doctor, he’s still the same alien trying to understand the strange rituals of our species.

In this exclusive sneak peek from Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5, we find Harry at the bar, attempting to fill the void in his chest with the tried-and-true salve of humanity: community… and beer.

But this isn’t a story of belonging. It’s a masterclass in awkward.

Harry finds Mike at the bar, assuming they’re both drowning in loneliness. (He’s wrong — Mike’s feeling the love these days, emotionally and otherwise.)

D’arcy’s on hand to roast them both, and before long, Harry’s trying to flirt — with disastrous results.

He tells a woman named Lydia that doctors are good at sex… because they see a lot of vaginas. Yes, plural. Loudly, repeatedly, and with the enthusiasm of someone who’s learned just enough about social cues to humiliate himself efficiently.

It’s hysterical, and painful, and exactly where Harry is right now: adrift.

Harry’s Humanity Is Weighing Him Down

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Harry struggle with the mess of being human. He’s scared. He’s disconnected. He hates milk. He gags at Heather’s face. He can’t even tell when he’s being offensive — which is often.

But underneath the missteps and social media hashtags is something far more tender: Harry’s hurting.

He doesn’t want to be alone, but he doesn’t quite know how to not be alone. And being human, with its endless feelings and clumsy attempts at intimacy, isn’t making things easier.

Mike Steps Up (and Thank God He’s Grounded Now)

Luckily, Harry has Mike. And while Mike used to be the guy who’d egg him on, this version — the one who loves Lena and knows how to regulate his sarcasm — knows when to cut the cord.

He jumps in, rescues Harry from himself, and gets him out of what could’ve been a catastrophic sexual harassment lawsuit.

It’s a reminder that Harry’s going to need real, grounded friendships if he has any hope of surviving life as a human.

And it’s encouraging that Mike, who once mocked Liv and dismissed every theory, is now stepping into a much more emotionally aware role.

Will Harry Get His Alien Energy Back — And If He Does, What Then?

This whole arc raises a bigger question.

If Harry does find a way to reclaim his alien energy, what happens to the version of him we’re seeing now? The one who feels things, who’s learning regret, who actually cried after breaking things off with Heather?

Will he still carry that growth with him? Or will it all vanish the moment his powers return?

And if he can’t get it back — if he’s stuck like this — does Resident Alien shift permanently? Can the show work with Harry fully human? Or is this entire season quietly preparing us for the beginning of the end?

Aloneliness Hurts, But Growth Hurts More

Harry’s voiceover calls his experience “aloneliness,” and he imagines love as a fix-it solution — someone to spend their life patching up all the broken parts.

But love, like humanity, doesn’t really work that way. It’s messy, it’s mutual, and it takes more than a medical license and a LinkedIn full of vaginas to get right.

Resident Alien Season 4 is pulling no punches when it comes to emotional growth. Harry is flailing. But maybe that’s what it takes to really evolve.

Even for an alien.

Check out the clip below and return here at midnight on Friday after the show airs for a full review. And don’t forget: it’s moving from 11/10c to 10/9c. Don’t get spoiled by being late to the party!
