It was announced some time ago that Vinland Saga had entered its final arc, and even with the manga’s frequent hiatuses, with how much the story has progressed, it seemed all but certain that the series would end sometime in 2025.
Vinland Saga’s grand finale is on the horizon, and it might be coming surprisingly soon. While there were originally reports about Vinland Saga ending in June based on a specific translation of a summary of Makoto Yukimura’s upcoming guest lecture at Rikkyo University, that has now proven to be false, but even so, Vinland Saga is officially confirmed to be ending on July 25, 2025. That means there are only two chapters left at most, and while there’s plenty to wrap up, a story like Vinland Saga will surely know how to properly end things.

What Will Happen In Vinland Saga Before Its Finale?
Vinland Saga looks to only have two chapters left at best, and there’s still a lot that needs to be covered. The most recent chapters have covered the final dissolution of Thorfinn’s village and, most shockingly, Einar’s death, and with all of that, there’s nothing left for Thorfinn to do but return home to Iceland as history dictates. There’s little left for Vinland Saga beyond Thorfinn and his friends leaving Vinland in failure, and considering Makoto Yukimura’s previous comments on Vinland Saga’s ending, that’s hard to argue with.
There is a bit of optimism to be had, however. As everyone laments how poorly everything went, Karli opted to focus on the things that went well and said that they needed to fix their mistakes and try harder next time, and Thorfinn’s words at Einar’s grave show that he’s learned something from Einar falling under the spell of war against the Lnu. Vinland Saga’s latest chapter suggests that everyone will use what happened to make their next society a more prosperous one, and as simple as that might be, it’s all they can be expected to do, unfortunately.
