The chief executive of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity has retired after being involved with the charity for 18 years.
Andrew Jameson was one of the charity’s founding trustees in 2007 and became its chief executive in 2023.
“RNRMC was founded in 2007 to be the principal charity of the Royal Navy and I was thrilled to be one of the founding trustees,” Jameson said.
“Since then, the charity has grown extraordinarily and has been able to transform the lives of literally thousands of beneficiaries as well as help improve the morale and efficiency of the naval service.
“I have been especially proud to have worked with colleagues from across the naval charity sector to ensure we work together to deliver the support our beneficiaries need and deserve.”
Sam Nicolson has been appointed as the charity’s interim chief executive.
Nicolson joined the charity in 2008 as its head of finance before becoming its chief financial officer in 2015.
She was promoted to her latest role, as the charity’s chief operating officer, in 2020.
Nicolson has also been a trustee at the hospice charity Naomi’s House and Jacksplace since 2016 and was appointed MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours last year.
The charity said Nicolson “commands respect across the military charity sector and has built trusted relationships with all of our key partners”.
It said: “Instrumental in leading the integration of The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund into RNRMC in 2011, Sam went on to lead the development and delivery of regulatory and financial services for charities both inside RNRMC group as well as financial services for partner naval charities.”
