Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Rekindled Romance Continues With Hand-Holding in NYC

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello haven’t fully reconciled yet, at least according to tabloid reports. But their exploration of their relationship is ongoing—and it’s going well enough that they will hold hands in public. Paparazzi captured the pair hand-in-hand in New York City on Tuesday. Both wore jeans, with Mendes wearing a dark tank top and Cabello wearing a leather jacket and white crop top. The two musicians were on a coffee date, per TMZ.

The sighting this week comes about a month after a source told Entertainment Tonight on April 25 that Mendes and Cabello are figuring out whether they should try dating again. “Shawn and Camila aren’t officially back together, but they are enjoying each other’s company and seeing where things go,” the source said.

Mendes and Cabello first sparked romance rumors again when they were filmed kissing at Coachella in mid-April. Entertainment Tonight‘s source acknowledged at the time that there was nothing too serious behind the festival PDA.

“When they met up and kissed at Coachella, they were having fun and being in the moment together,” the source said. “They are both attracted to each other and care about one another a lot. They are having fun.”

Cabello and Mendes were friends before they dated for two years. They announced their breakup in November 2021 with a joint statement. They wrote: “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever ❤️ We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️ Camila and Shawn.”
