The government is inviting charitable foundations to apply for up to £1.7m in match-funding to deliver a scheme that aims to tackle barriers to volunteering.
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport said the new Volunteering Futures Fund aimed to support high-quality volunteering opportunities for young people and those who experience barriers to volunteering in England.
It said the fund aims to test and trial solutions to known barriers through the use of informal, micro, flexible and digital approaches.
The department said it was looking for grant-making organisations to apply for up to £1.7m in match-funding to deliver one strand of the programme, relating to community and youth initiatives involving volunteers.
It said applicants must be able to bring match-funding on a 1:1 basis and could request between £300,000 and £1.7m of funding.
The DCMS said the fund would run from October this year until 31 March 2023.
