Savage X Fenty Launches Its First-Ever Pride Collection

Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X Fenty is looking to propel its success beyond the wear-your-underwear-around-the-house WFH era with a colorful new capsule collection worth paying attention to: Savage X Pride. A first for the brand, the Pride collection features 60 new pieces, each catering to and in celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in honor of Pride Month.

“Pride is all about appreciating your authentic self,” Rihanna exclusively told ELLE over email. “I am very excited about this collection and showing love and support to the LGBTQIA+ community, which includes so many of our customers, team members and fans.”

The intimates are sexy but not intimidating, whimsical but not cringe-inducing, and designed for all bodies along the sexuality and size spectrum. Launching on June 1, the capsule includes a surprising range of garments, including lacy bras, neon smoking jackets, crotchless panties, Savage-branded jockstraps, and even a multi-colored kitty whip. But if technicolor briefs aren’t your thing, there are plenty of options that don’t lean on the rainbow motif for those seeking a more simplistic color palette.

To mark the collection, Savage X Fenty hired photographer Quil Lemons, beauty artist Hector Espinal, and 13 models from the LGBTQIA+ community. The result is an astounding collection of full-color portraits in which queer individuals, decked out in Savage X Pride intimates and jackets, openly celebrate their bodies. The campaign is joyful, bold, devious, and purposefully indulgent. For Savage X, sexuality is worth celebrating now, today, and immediately.

“Honestly what makes me feel boldly me is having a little bit of vanity,” says Eliseo Equihua, one of the Savage X Pride models. “It’s kind of looked down upon and I feel like that’s sad because there’s nothing wrong with taking your appearance seriously. Being able to express me the way I feel like it and being able to use my brown body as a form of expression.”

For further evidence that Savage X Fenty is actually invested in its audience—rather than capitalizing on its movement—the brand is actively committing to LGBTQ charities. Proceeds from Savage X Pride will help support five organizations focused on LGBTQ well-being, including GLAAD, the Audre Lorde Project, The Caribbean Equality Project, INC., Trans Latin@ Coalition, and the Trans Wellness Center.

In true Fenty fashion, the collection is available in inclusive sizes, with bras available in 30A–42H and garments from XS–3X. Prices start at $16.95 but remain affordable, with the most expensive at $69.95.
